WASHINGTON, D.C. - Merrick B. Garland has been sworn in today at noon ET as the 86th Attorney General of the United States, marking a new era in the Justice Department. He was confirmed 70 to 30 by the US. Senate on March 10, 2021, with the support of 20 Republicans and all 50 Democrats.
